Synopsis

Rob Kensington is just your typical high school senior. Athletic, intelligent, handsome. Sees a therapist once a week. Because his parents just died in a house fire of questionable origin. And he doesn’t seem to care.
Maybe he isn’t so typical.

Sara Marsh had no clue when she returned to live with her divorced father that the bedroom down the hall would be occupied by a stray with a major attitude problem. The last time she saw Rob, he was a brooding goth who could have passed as Marilyn Manson’s love child. But at some point during her three years away, Creepy Kensington managed to evolve into a sizzling hot star running back with smoldering hazel eyes.

The attraction is undeniable. The temptation is irresistible. And soon they’re sharing more than just an address. But with another life lost in a deliberately set blaze, Sara’s trust is faltering. Has she lost her heart to a serial arsonist? He’s already shown her the allure of playing with fire.

And someone’s about to get burned.

Review

This is the third novel that I have read by Ms. Allie Gail and she hasn’t failed to keep my attention and curiosity piqued till the very end. Being one of her beta readers as well, I enjoyed the book from start till end. At the start, I felt that the book was inspired by Stephanie Meyer’s, Twilight, but as the story opened up, my observation wasn’t quite true. I loved the character build-up of Rob and how the author had differentiated between the past and present of Rob. The dark lurking behind him, the mystery and suspense was too good (and too much to handle for me).

I had my guess on Riley as the villain but Ms.Gail surprised me with the twist and I loved it. This is a book worth reading for it makes your heart beat increase, your mind working out conclusions and in the end, the author shocks you all. Allie has always impressed me with her “The Immortal Touch Series” and this YA novel was quite different but I can say one thing about her, she is one gifted and talented author.

Great work, Allie. Good luck!!

About Allie Gail

Allie

Allie fell in love with the written word from the moment she was issued her very first Sally, Dick and Jane book. Born and raised in Alabama, she now resides in the panhandle of Florida with her own blue-eyed Prince Charming and three obnoxious cats. When she’s not working on her latest literary project, she can usually be found watching B-movie horror (the cheesier, the better), reading or playing online computer games while indulging her unhealthy Pepsi addiction.

Review:

Another captivating and mesmerizing novel from the author of Winter’s Touch (The Immortal Touch Series). Allie Gail hasn’t failed to keep her readers captured till the end of her story. Following Evangeline Spencer and Julian Winters from Winters Touch, the story opens up to Tristan Kendall’s visit to Oregon to meet Eva and set up a meeting with Asher Reid, a narcissistic and controlling vampire who thrives on attention of the women around him. But that is not all about Asher, as the story develops forward, he pursues Samara Porter to break down her ego and self-respect as she becomes his prime target, unaware of what he would find behind her strong exterior. Beneath the hardened, uptight exterior who is Samara, she is sensitive, head-strong and loyal girl, who relocates to Florida in hopes of getting rid of her ex-boyfriend who she found with another woman. As she is employed in the same hotel where Asher lives, it’s long before Samara falls beneath his urbane charm and gives in to her urges.

Ms Gail doesn’t disappoint us once again with an action packed thriller with a strong story line and characters. Her characters seem to come to life right before our eyes and the way she brings everyone together is a talent in itself. Throwing cautions to the winds, her clues in the story are placed at the right time and the right place, keeping the reader guessing for what is to come.

I would give this story a five star, although I am not a fan of sequels but this story reminded me something between E.L.James, Fifty Shades of Grey and L.J.Smith, The Vampire Diaries. If there is something like love at first sight, that is what I feel for Ms Gail’s characters. It’s a must read for all the fans of Vampires out there as I was even fascinated till the end.

Good job, Ms Gail. I wish you luck for the future.

About the Author:Allie

A resident of sunny Florida, Allie Gail is the author of Unconventional Scars,
Winter’s Touch: Immortal Touch Book One and Fire and Ash: Immortal Touch Book
Two. Allie’s had an obsession with reading ever since the day she was issued her first
Sally, Dick and Jane reader. (Never mind how long ago that was!) When she isn’t busy
obsessing over the lexicon of her novels, she can usually be found with her nose in a
book, a cat on her lap and music impairing her hearing from headphones turned up way
too high. Or sometimes roaming about Azeroth as a night elf rogue. Yep, that’s right.
And yes, on occasion…at the beach.

#Review of Winter’s Touch, A Vampire #Novel by Allie Gail

Book Description:Allison Goodson_IT bk1_Winter's Touch2

“I am a demon who once walked as a man.”
Second-year college student Evangeline Spencer has learned over the years how to cope with the disturbing dreams that have plagued her since childhood. But now, fifteen years after his startling revelation, the nightmare from next door has returned to claim her. Swept away to a remote location in Oregon, Eva has become the possession of someone incapable of compassion or remorse. Julian Winter is a vampire with the face of an angel, a ruthless killer whose sole intent is to staunch his craving for her blood. And to survive, she’ll have to search the remotest depths of his soul for any remnants of humanity. Can she make his resurrected heart feel again? Or will the crux of her life be slowly consumed? Winter’s Touch is part one of the Immortal Touch series. Look for part two, Fire and Ash, to be released in mid-September.

Review:

A well-constructed plot with the right kinds of twists and turns, Winter’s Touch had me gripped and captivated from the first page. As the story unfolded from the childhood of Evangeline Spencer who has a rather peculiar neighbour, the little girl wins our hearts with her inquisitive nature and innocence. The author’s insight and imagination has been well described and the story flows beautifully from her childhood to her being an adult.

Julian Winters is a vampire, who has shut off all his so-called human feelings, emotions and sentiments. As a self-sufficient person, he has taken up residence in Nebraska right beside the house where Eva lives and comes in contact with him. Soon, he finds out that a mere accident with her kissing his blood had created a connection between then, he makes her witness the cruel of act of hunting on his part. Over the years, Evangeline experiences nightmare that are not really nightmares but the reality that is associated with Julian. As a young woman of twenty, she is abducted by the same person whom she had believed to be her friend and now her captor. As the series of events pass by, Evangeline tries hard to break through the feelings that are long gone for Julian.

“This tale of love, loss, feelings, emotions and above all, friendship is one of the best in it’s genre.”

The author has done a pretty good job of portraying the scenario and narrating the story as she best wanted it. Although, the chemistry between Julian and Eva could have been more than what she represented, this is a book worth reading.

I, myself, enjoyed reading and am of the opinion that this could go further. Good Luck for the author for I believe her to have mettle enough to improve the story.

#Review of Forever Love by the #Author Melissa Keir #RomanceReviews

A captivating love story by the author who, herself, taught me the meaning of love. Forever love is a story of love, loss, sacrifices, relationships and above all, bonds within a family. Syndie, a high school student, who had relocated to Chicago as soon as she graduated to get over her childhood friend and ex-boyfriend, T.J. returns to her town once again due to her father’s ill health. Unbeknown to her that she would be facing the object of her teenage affection as soon as she sets foot in town. As she encounters T.J. at the beach, her older feelings and memories come back to her whereas T.J. realises that he still loves her. Torn between her father’s ill health and T.J’s love, it is quite difficult for Syndie to make a decision.

As the events unfold in the story, the author greatly utilized her gift for portraying her emotions and dilemma into the lead character as if we were living the story ourselves. The attractions and the chemistry between Syndie and T.J. have been beautifully portrayed. Once again, Ms. Keir has woven a creative tale of love, family and relationships. Forever Love is must read for all those fans of romance books looking for a good story.

Fantasies Unbound by Raine Delight- A #Review

From the Disney Fairy tales to reality, this story has it all. Skye Andrews is a young woman who is once again hopeful to find true love with the help of her grandmother’s love potion. After her last failed date on the Valentine’s Day, she is quite despondent as to finding her true soul mate. Unbeknown, he is on his way to find her himself. As soon as she drinks the potions, an incredibly beautiful man with green eyes is conjured up in front of her but she shakes him off with a flick of her head.

Aryan is a Prince of the Fae Kingdom. He has searched far and wide for his true soul mate but he hasn’t been lucky enough to find one. Given an ultimatum by his mother to find the love of his life or endure marriage, he sets out to find his soul mate and arrives in Dayton, Skye’s town. As they both are attracted towards each other through magic, it is a tale worth reading. From the magical love potions to wild, uninhibited sex, Ms Delight has beautifully described the tale to satisfy the reader’s curiosity. Although, a more detail oriented novel with much longer scenes and love connection would have done the trick.

The story is quite engaging as it is and the writer she is quite talented. She has a beautifully woven tale of two worlds closely although some details were missing. I would recommend her to elaborate the book into a beautiful novel worth reading.

Good Luck, Ms Delight.
